Catemaco Tegogolos

Mexican men are of the heterosexual virile sort, or at least they think so, until they count the humongous secretive numbers of homosexuals among themselves. Beautiful downtown Catemaco attracts them all.

Tegogolos, resident water snails of Laguna Catemaco, apparently are the natural VIAGRA of southern Mexico. Local fishermen gladly oblige the undersexed crowds with extremely portable ice coolers filled with Tegogolo cocktails. Even some restaurants try to harness this energy.

Possibly because of this, the Malecon of Catemaco is littered with a dozen hotels. As far as I know, no scientific study has been done on the aphrodisiac qualities of this endemic slug of Los Tuxtlas.

Unscientifically I know of some gringos and a bunch of Mexicans who will not leave home without ice coolers full of Tegogolos.
